If you’re thinking of getting a degree in nursing and taking up RN to BSN courses, make looking for the right school your priority first.
There are a number of schools offering RN to BSN programs and there are even online courses that you can take right from the comforts of your home if your schedule won’t permit going to a regular school. It doesn’t matter if you decide to take your BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degree online or in a regular school, what matters is that you take it! There are many accredited nursing schools, and some are accredited by national accreditation bodies while others are not. - The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The School of Nursing of the University of North Carolina has an accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center for continuing nursing education. It has both online and offline nursing courses.
In addition, the University of North Carolina allows both full time and part time studies. As a full time student, you will have the chance to complete the course in one year’s time. If you choose to be a part-time student, on the other hand, you can complete the course in two years.
- The University of South Carolina Upstate. The Mary Black School of Nursing of the University of South Carolina has an accreditation with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education of the South Carolina Board of Nursing. The university offers “Fast Track RN to BSN” programs in their school.
Registered Nurses who are graduates of two-year Associate courses or diplomas can fast track their studies and get their bachelor degrees in one year. To get into the university, students have to meet the admission requirements set by its nursing school. Students who already have nursing experience can get 45 hours of credit, as well as credit transfers for transferees.
- The University of Wisconsin in Green Bay. The university has received accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and is regionally accredited by the North Association of Colleges and Schools.
